  • 抗酸化反応を制御する主要な因子であるNrf2の遺伝子多型が喫煙者における慢性閉塞性肺疾患(COPD)の進行に関与することが、呼吸器内科の杉谷と浅井らによって報告されました。この研究にはMedCity21のバイオリポジトリに蓄積されたDNAと臨床データが使用されました。

  • キサンチン酸化還元酵素活性(XOR)は近年になりヒトの血液で測定できるようになりました。そのため、動物実験では尿酸値とXOR活性が相関することが示されていましたが、ヒトではその関係が不明でした。代謝内分泌病態内科の藏城と先端予防医療学の福本らは、長年証明されていなかったヒトでのXOR活性と尿酸濃度の相関を世界で初めて証明しました。この研究にはMedCity21のバイオリポジトリのサンプルが使用されました。

  • 脂肪組織から分泌されるオメンチンという物質が心血管障害を抑制することが以前より知られていましたが、今回、代謝内分泌病態内科学教室の林と森岡らの研究によって、血漿オメンチン濃度が2型糖尿病患者の中でも特に心血管病リスクの高い患者で血管内皮機能と関連することが明らかにされました。この研究の中で、非糖尿病比較群としてMedCity21のバイオリポジトリの血液と健診データが使用されました。

  • 胃の痛みや胃もたれなどのつらい症状を伴う機能性ディスペプシアという病気は、その原因が不明でしたが、MedCity21の健診情報を基にした研究で、胃の陥凹型びらんという病変と関連することが初めて示され、論文報告されました。

  • 放射線診断学・IVR学教室の植田先生が開発した未破裂脳動脈瘤のAI診断技術についての論文が発表されました。MedCity21では今後、健診データを活用した様々なAI診断技術の開発やAI統計解析を用いた疫学研究を行っていきたいと考えています。
